Plumbing Services | Steps to Unclog Your Blocked Sink
Blocked sinks can happen anytime. Before you pick up the phone
to call a plumber there can be many ways to unclog blocked sinks. Its
inevitable to have blocked sinks and your kitchen sink is no exception. The clog may not go on its own and need some
attention to detail. Using some common things from the kitchen or some tools
you may unclog the blocked sink.
The biggest reason why a sink gets blocked
is the carelessness of people. They throw anything and everything in the sink.
Be it egg shells, debris or any food particle, the list is endless. This causes the walls of the sink to get
blocked and then water doesn’t passes through the pipes. Fixing a blocked sink
is matter of few minutes provided you know the right way to do it.
Here are
certain ways that may help instead of calling the 24 hour plumber or an emergency plumber:
- Take a plunger and get to work. Plunging sucks air out of the pipe and then forces it back in, which helps to dislodge the blockage. Place the cup over the plughole and check that a seal is formed. Push the handle up and down in a pumping action. The drainage will get cleared soon.
- Sometimes a gush of water can unclog the debris that is blocking your sink. Take a 2litre drinking bottle, fill in boiling water and pour it into the sink. All the clogged items will flow down and your sink will be clog-free once again.
- Sometimes plunger or water may not help in unclogging the sink. Take a mix of baking soda and vinegar. First put 1 cup of baking soda and then add the vinegar after that. It will create a fizz which will help in unclogging your sink. If that doesn’t help you can use bleach to unclog the blocked sink.
If nothing else works then you may contact
24 hour plumber or an emergency plumber of Liverpool to help you out.
